About us
At MCC-arch we use both sides of our brain…
We love brainstorming
We are very curious about you
We make your vision come to life
Right side of the brain:
Left side of the brain:
We collect all your data
We make sure your’re on schedule
We are conscious about your budget $$$
When both sides work together, inspiration meets efficiency, and egos always stay outside, next to our bikes.
About Melissa
She takes the boredom out of “office space” by reimagining what it would be like to work in a place that gets your own creative juices flowing, and most importantly, makes you calm, happy and productive.
Melissa Carolina Cheing (hence MCC) started her NYC architectural career in 2011 where, by chance, she found her dream job mixing architecture and interior design.
She left a successful Design Director position to start MCC-arch in 2023. At her previous firm, she spearheaded over 100 projects amounting over 1 000 000 SF of commercial space in NYC in the span of 12+ years for landlords and tenants alike.
With this experience, and clients reaching out for her services directly, she decided to start her own firm, to do things her own way.
If she hasn’t seen it all yet, she’s seen a lot. She’s got an eye for design, and ear for her clients and a NYC heart.
Melissa’s key to your ideal design is getting to know your brand, your culture and your vision
Fun facts
Her summer mode of transportation is a Boosted Board (electric skateboard, not a scooter, this thing is hands free). But she also relies on Citibike, the MTA, or most often, her two legs.
On 2019 she took a 6 month sabbatical to backpack through South East Asia with her husband. They travelled Vietnam by motorbike from north to south, slept in the second largest cave in the world, became open water divers, climbed mountains, saw Komodo dragons and were often confused for locals in the Philippines because of how tan they got.
Contrary to popular belief, she recently joined the 40’s club. She’s not 27, although that is how she looks and feels.
She’s a handstand enthusiast, and trains calisthenics almost every day of the week. What started as a yoga obsession, turned into an upside down way of life.
She’s OCD about plastic pollution, so she uses green beauty and cleaning products as much as possible, and tries to offset her carbon footprint by planting trees in the Chilean and Argentinian Patagonia each year. Not by herself, but through this wonderful organization Fundacion Reforestemos.
She loves her dog so much she has her face tattooed on her forearm. No, seriously. She does.
The serious stuff
